With Synergy League’s LAN finals being called off until January next year due to political unrest and other logistical issues, Malaysia’s Invasion eSports looks to be limbo with no event to attend in the coming week. Originally the team qualified for both the Mineski Pro Gaming League (MPGL) and the previously mentioned Synergy League LAN finals. However both event are held on the same date which is from the 29th to the 30th of November.

Due to this predicament, the team had to give up one of the event and they decided to give up their slot in MPGL to MVP.Hot6ix and thus are no longer eligible for the event. Aside from the time wasted on preparing for the event, the team suffered some major financial loses as they had to spend upwards of RM5,000 on Russian visas alone not to mention other expenses such as flights and accomodation.

There is however a glimmer of hope for the team as they have been invited to The Summit 2 in Los Angeles to replace First Departure due to a few members on the team being unable to make time for the event. This too is a tall order as teams from the country have been known to hit troubled waters when it comes to applying for a US visa.

More updates on the team’s situation as the events unfold.
