KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran Dota 2 player Yamateh (Ng Wei Poong) yesterday proved that he is no pushover after winning the S.O.X 2014 Dota 2 Johor Qualifiers with his new team, Natit Gaming.

Yamateh, who formed the untested squad following the disbandment of former team Titan, was all smiles after bagging the championship together with four of his handpicked players.

The two-day tournament, held in Danga City Mall, Johor Bahru, saw Natit dominating the entire tournament from start to finish despite having only one veteran player in the team.

This may be Natit’s first tournament, but their achievement has ensured them a RM1,000 cash prize, as well as a one-way ticket to S.O.X’s Grand Finals in Kenanga Wholesale City next month.

The S.O.X Qualifiers will continue in Penang on Nov 1 and 2 at First Avenue Mall, Penang. This is also the first time major telecommunications company Celcom is sponsoring a Dota 2 tournament.

Teams interested to participate in the competition can register here.

The Grand Finals, which will be held at Kenanga Whole City, Kuala Lumpur on Nov 22 and 23 will offer a whopping cash prize of RM8,000 and smart phones for all the winners.
